Hey y’all! Just wanted to drop in and share a bit about the Ursprung H11 9005 Fog Light Bulb Combo I picked up recently. You know how it gets down here in fog and rain, driving can get a tad sketchy. Well, I decided to give these bulbs a whirl, and boy, was it worth it!
So, first things first, these bulbs are no joke when it comes to brightness. They claim to be 900% brighter than traditional halogens, and I gotta say, they ain’t kidding. It’s like turning night into day. I hooked them up in my wife’s Ford Escape, my F-150, and my old Mustang, and the difference was clear as day. No pun intended, but seriously, it’s a whole new world at night.
Installation wasn’t too difficult, although, in the F-150, Ford overengineered how the lights come out. They fit just like the old bulbs, no adjustments needed, which was a relief. I’ve heard stories of folks having to wrestle with their cars to get new bulbs to fit, but not with these.
Now, let’s talk about the build. These bulbs are made with premium aviation aluminum. Feels sturdy, looks sharp, and apparently, it’s great for cooling too. They’ve got this enhanced cooling tech that helps them last longer. They’re supposed to last about 60,000 hours. I haven’t had them that long, of course, but if they last even half that time, I’ll be pleased as punch.
I also appreciate that they’re designed to be easy on the eyes of other drivers. They’ve got this optimized light pattern that cuts down on glare, which is a big deal. I mean, no one wants to be that guy blinding everyone else on the road.
Oh, and before I forget, they’re waterproof (IP68)! Given the sudden downpours we get here, that’s a crucial feature. You don’t want your lights giving out just when you need them most.
I’ve been using them for about a year now, and they’ve held up great. They are made by Fahren, and I have only used Fahren for the past decade. About a decade ago, Fahren was the 2nd rated LED bulb on the market, only Cree was better.
